FENDER® JAZZ, PRECISION, MUSTANG etc. & DAN ARMSTRONG® PLEXI BASS GUITAR THUMB RESTS
High Quality Bass Guitar Thumb Rests are quite hard to find parts - you normally have a choice of either a cheap plastic replacement or, if you are lucky, an original vintage Fender one may crop up on Ebay.
The only difference between the two is that the genuine vintage part is usually very expensive! Its still a cheap piece of hollow plastic though . . .
My FENDER® style thumb rests are made as a direct replacement to all FENDER® bass guitars without alteration or modification to the instrument where the holes are factory drilled.
Should your instrument not be "thumb rest ready" I also supply as standard; fixing instructions and template suitable for Precision and Jazz type instruments.
Very early FENDER® bass guitars had a single-hole TUG BAR which I can also supply with a choice of slot-head or cross-head screws.
The DAN ARMSTRONG® PLEXI BASS GUITAR is a little more complicated as the measurements are different depending whether the instrument is an original or reissue model.
I have supplied both designs to satisfied customers in both ROSEWOOD and TRANSPARENT PERSPEX. Should you require a different wood or plastic - let me know!
I am often requested to make a CUSTOM ONE-OFF THUMB REST to a customer's specifications. These can be extra long and thin to fit between pickups or alternatively absolutely tiny! Just let me know what you would like - it won't be nearly as expensive as you might think.
I make my thumb-rests by hand from the same luthier-quality woods that I use for my boxes.
They are supplied with the correct dome-top cross-headed screws.
Of course these thumb rests and tug-bars can be fitted to any bass guitar.
Please let me know whether you would like GOLD, BLACK or STAINLESS STEEL fixing screws. If you don't express a preference I'll supply stainless ones.
You can choose between the one-hole or two-hole version when ordering.
In addition to my wooden Thumbrests I can also make them out of high quality SOLID CAST ACRYLIC and POLYESTER materials in a range of Patterns and Pearlescent colours. CHOOSE FROM ZEBRA STRIPE or PEARLOIDS in VARIOUS COLOURS. AVAILABLE IN GOLD, JADE GREEN, BLUE, BLUE/RED/GOLD, RED/BLACK, GOLD/BLACK & BURGUNDY.
